Can a really dedicated striker and puncher train to take a normal bjj practioner out?

No matter how hard you train when it comes down to fighting it is all instincts. Look at Nate Marquardt vs. Demian Maia. Marquardt came in against a Gracie level BJJ artist and knocked him out fast. But then look at Pat Smith vs. Royce Gracie. Pat is one of the deadliest strikers ever to compete and he was undefeated professionally. It all depends on instincts and last minute reaction. Yeah, training is important. But I always say, its hard to remember what you trained and what to do when your getting punched in the face.
