How did stone age people cut their fingernails?

May sound like a random pointless question but I have been wondering about this for ages. Stone age people were anatomically the same as us but they only had stone tools, i.e. no nail clippers or nail scissors. Did they use pieces of flint maybe? Come to that how do other animals cut theair fingernails or toenails like chimps or orangutans? Any ideas?
