Nocturnal emission last night?

So i just had a Nocturnal emission last night. I didn't have a wet dream with it but i for sure got wet. In the past ive woken up right before or when it was happening, but this time i woke up cause i was so wet. What is it that makes you wake up and not wake up? i know i didnt pee my pants cause it was stiky. also why didnt i have a dream with it? thanks
